Shifting Gears

Updates on my creative life.

I have not updated my personal portfolio site in some time. This is because I'm hard at work moving my creativity in a wholly new direction. My new focus is my company, Berkshire Supply Co. I spend hours daily working to push this new creative effort to launch and I can't wait to be able to open the digital doors to our online shop this October.

It's true that this may seem like a significant departure from where I began creatively as a clothing label looks quite different than filmmaking on the surface. But it is with Berkshire Supply that I can stretch all my creative muscles simultaneously. I can create video and photographic content for our wares, design our clothes alongside our lead designer Spenser Hasak and think years down the road to how we are going to grow and establish our brand.

We have started off strong with a successful Kickstarter campaign and a creative business partnership with Ramblewild, a local company in the Berkshires who not only have an incredible aerial adventure park but are committed to environmental awareness and education all on the thousands of acres of land in the Berkshire hills.

There will be much to come as we work towards launch, and I will be posting more often here as that comes.

Still Life

Having time alone at home while also having the itch to go out and photograph can often put me at odds with myself. To remedy that I've begun to dabble in photographing objects around me. My clothing, my morning coffee or my bedroom. Though the photos I truly enjoy taking are of my friends and others, I saw this as a challenge and a way to better an aspect of my photography that I rarely utilize.

Mass MoCA and Another Hike

Another visit from my great friend and constant collaborator Spenser Hasak. This past weekend he drove in from the other end of the state to come see the sights of The Berkshires and take some more photos. It's always great having Spenser around, he makes me up my photographic game and challenges me to achieve new success in my photography.

Labor Day Hike

This past Labor Day Weekend, my friend and frequent collaborator Spenser Hasak and I went for a photo hike on Monument Mountain in The Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. This was a chance to test ideas and brainstorm for an upcoming project of ours. Featured here as well as throughout my photographic portfolio page are some of the photos I took on that hike.

A Wrap on "Dirty Books"

Last week Fitch Fort Films wrapped on another major project. "Dirty Books" has been in some form of production for a long time and is finally moving into post-production. The history of "Dirty Books" goes back nearly four years when it was written by Zachary Lapierre and myself during our freshmen year at Fitchburg State University. The film almost went into production that following summer but was cancelled due to scheduling issues. Seeing the filming finally come to completion is exciting and we are excited to be bringing you more details soon.

Expect to see a dedicated page on this site for the film as we release more information, stills and footage of the project.

Coming Soon - "Dirty Books"

This past weekend were the first shoot days for Fitch Fort Films' next major short film "Dirty Books". The film is being directed by Zachary Lapierre who previously directed the short film "Vinyl" for Fitch Fort Films a few years ago (featured in the Videos page on this site). Producing is Christina Dunlop and Matthew Rindini, Matthew will also be doing the work of assistant director on set. Michael Kutsch will be doing the editing. Michael was nominated for Best Editing at Campus Movie Fest for his work on "Ticker" a Fitch Fort Film also featured on this site. I am director of photography on the project as well as co-writer alongside Zachary.

"Dirty Books" is scheduled to shoot through two weeks in August in Greenfield, Massachusetts, with the first weekend having been shot in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The film is expected to edit through the fall, so expect to see more news in the coming weeks and months!

New additions!

Because I am constantly working and teaching myself different photographic techniques, I am always striving to take more photographs and experiment with different styles. I have just added a handful of new images that experiment with night photography, portrait and architectural photography. I hope you enjoy!

I have also added the short film "The Juniper Tree" this was made way back in my freshman year at Fitchburg State University but still stands as one of not only mine but Fitch Fort Films greatest achievements. The short film was screened overseas as a part of the Cannes Film Festival in 2013. Fitch Fort Films founding member Matthew Rindini was present at the festival to showcase our work.
